As we shared about the method of removing gallstones with my colleagues, one of them shared another receipe using fruits. Its called Fruits Enzyme 果酵 in chinese. The following day, she brought some for us to taste in the office. It tasted like dessert wine and made Patrick's face red as if he drank real wine. However, its not wine, it does not contains alcohol.

Apparantly this recipe is taken before going to sleep. The advantages of this drink is :-
1) Helps our body replenish certain enzymes which is lost as we age. The enzyme is essential for good health.
2) Aids blood circulation
3) Aids digestion
4) Cures insomnia. When i drank it in office, i felt "high" lor. So figured out it will solve my insomnia problem

For this recipe you can choose from a few choices of fruits. Apple, DragonFruit, Pineapple, Grapes etc. Some has said that the nicest is DragonFruit.
For my try, I will be doing Grape and Pineapple.

INGREDIENTS (For 1 Jar)
1) abt 2kg of Ripe Grapes
2) 1.5 packets of Brown Sugar
3) 1 Big Yellow Lemon

METHOD
The key to make this recipe work is that your utensils and ingredients MUST NOT come in contact with any water. Thus I would wash everything the night before and air it dry before I start on it.
DO NOT place the lemons in the fridge as it will form water vapour once it is removed from the fridge.

Pound all 1.5 pack of brown sugar until it breaks down into smaller pieces. This allows the sugar to melt faster when it ferments.
After pounding, leave aside.

Peel off the skin of the lemons including the white skin. Ensure it is as bare as possible. Slice the lemons into small pieces.

Sliced the grape into halves and place the flesh facing down. Line them up neatly until the bottom is filled.

Line up the 2 pieces of sliced lemons on top of the grapes.

Sprinkle a handful of brown sugar all over. Repeat the steps until the grapes and lemons are finished. Top the remaining brown sugar before closing the lid.

Using a airtight glass container (to use extra plastic and tissue paper to ensure that no air will enter the bottle) to contain the above method and close it.
Allow 2 weeks for fermentation to take place.
Turn the bottle Clockwise / Anticlockwise (your choice) for the next few days, this will mix the flavours together.
After two weeks, drain off the remains and seperate the "essence" into another glass bottle.
Drink it as pleased before you sleep.

I did the same twice but this time using pineapples.
After that, i will mix the Juice extract from both grapes and pineapple together in the glass bottle.

The results : Home Made "Fake" Dessert Wine. (To me lah!) Its not real wine anyway.

For these two weeks, i will keep you posted on the progress on the fermentation until the ultimate result comes out.
I tell you, when i first tasted it, I fell in love with it thatz y im doing it this week. It has this sweet taste that just makes you want to get a second serving. As for now, I can only wait for 2 weeks before I can taste this self made "fake" wine.
I accidentally cut myself when i was slicing the pineapples. This fruit is more slippery than any other fruits, thus do exercise more care if you are going to use pineapple too.

Total time spent : 4 -5 hours (including washing and cleaning up)

Stay tuned.......
