Life is full of unpredictable events. Indeed, there is no way that man can control such events. (Note: I use “Man” which means both Man AND Woman in general.) Sometimes, we just fall for the unexpected, unknowingly yet willingly.
I relate this to my darling. When I first knew him during SP Band days, he gave me the impression that he will never take a second look at a girl like me. Thou we sat beside each other during practices, our conversations were just about gossips within the band room. Totally nothing on personal level. To me, he was someone popular with the babes and happy-go-lucky type of guy. Someone whom is always cheery and that he can handle any obstacles in front of him. He carries these bright chirpy whites with those puppied-eyes, its hard not to take a second look to observe this guy.
Well, due to unforeseen circumstances, he had to quit band and we sort of lost contact soon after. Thou there were a few times when I tried to contact him in regards to concerts and performances, my efforts were in vain.
It’s not until six years later where we got back in contact. At that point of time, he is a long lost friend to me. However, as time progresses, something else happened. It was a period full of dilemmas and questions when he stepped into my life again.
In the beginning, I was pretty apprehensive about him because of some facts I knew. Was I a gamble or a chip? Is he serious or is he not? You cant blame a girl for feeling unsecured correct? Especially me, im someone whom is superbly duberly unsecured. However, think of it the other way round, I am not perfect either. There are bound to be some odds which we may not accept about each other but if we were to weigh out the differences, I chose to stand by him and to overcome all odds. True love is not about loving a perfect person but loving an imperfect person perfectly (Patrick Boh, 2007). There are many close-to-perfects out there; man cannot be satisfied if our hearts isn’t settled. If man to want to look for “better” ones, it will be never ending. So y let your soul mate slip by your fingers? In this case, again, I want to thank the angels for sending someone whom managed to fulfill almost everything I needed.
Till now, whenever I look at Dear, I still could not believe that I am looking at him from such a close distance. I just can’t get enough of him even thou it is juz plain staring. Literally staring. I kept asking myself, am I dreaming? Is this true? I am actually in the arms of someone whom I tot will never fall for me. Stroking my hair and giving me gentle pecks on my forehead. Frankly speaking, till now, I still cant believe all the good things that have fell upon me. I really thank God for all that he has given me. I am truly truly blessed.
Cinz Dearie is correct. When one is in love, changes come naturally. Im glad that under “proper guidance”, I managed to let go of what happened in the past. Indeed, I have felt the changes in me taking place. I took at least one year to recap and learn on the basic rules to follow in a relationship. It may sound lame but there are indeed explanations why relationship fails. I never used to believe that such thing existed, just told myself, like then like la, no big deal. However, I am wrong, there are ways and means to make sure that your rship is a successful one. Then again, it really takes a lot of laughs, tears, hair pulling, frustrations anything you can think of before you can say that your rship is stable. I watched License to Wed recently and it is indeed meaningful. A couple madly in love may not be ready for marriage unless knowing the real character. The tough part is how do you get the real character out and then decide on whether u can accept that part of him or her.
Take note, you need to fall in love with the character, Not the personality or looks. You can change everything except character. This is integral. Okok, looks still plays a part, agreed?
Last but not least. Dear, Thanks for coming into my life. You are indeed my Ray of Light in the darkness for I know that I will always have your hand to guide me. Everything that you have done for me is simply amazing. I just wish I could do more for you. I never knew it was so hard to be apart from you even though it is just for a few hours. Is it because of honeymoon period only? We shall see ya?
